the shop is well stocked and the (busy) staff are friendly enough - but recently (october 2015) - for no reason other than 'head office want this information ' they are asking for more and more personal details when you make a purchase. Address, phone number, and on my latest visit - credit card number details! -
I won't be going back to shop there while there is this pressure to offer them this level of (uneccesary) personal detail -
shame - because otherwise its a good local shop to have -

I am an informed and experienced non-professional living locally to Leyland at London Dalston. I regularly call into the shop for anything from a Bushman's Saw, 5L of Weathershield, overalls, some sheets of sandpaper, to a bag of panel pins. The range of stock is amazing and the prices are reasonable and lower than many high street competitors. Staff sometimes wave their hands in the direction of what you are looking for, but are always pleasant and offer advice that is well informed and in no way pushy. This shop is an asset to the community and my first port of call for anything related to building and DIY.
