Oh my god. they are so RUDE in the Islington shop on Essex Rd.
I ordered two pieces of plywood to go over bed slates, i was told on the phone that the delivery would be £20, because of the new street blocking in place, i explained that this would NOT effect getting to me as i am only less then 5mins, down the street & did not involve going all around the houses, like he said. i was also told that i would have to take the wood off the van myself!!!
I rang first thing this morning to query the delivery charge with them, as i felt it was a rip off, to then be told by the Manager that i must have heard wrong! and that the delivery was £15, NOT £20, when someone turned up with the delivery, i could not believe that they insisted that i take all the cut offs, something i have not had to do in the past when i ordered from them! this has resulted in me having to get the local council to take away the wood that was not ordered by me ,AT A COST OF £30!

I will not be going here again, as they did try and rip me off under the premise of the new social distancing street plans, only to change everything on my receipt which they brought with them!

Absolutely brilliant. Professional, knowledgable friendly staff - basically if you want something and they don't know what it is, it doesn't exist!

When my daughter moved in 2011 to that area in London I was so pleased that an old fashioned hardware shop was close by. I have used them since then for DIY materials and found them to be very helpful with a fairly good range of items at reasonable cost.

Very unhelpful when I came in, almost to the point of rudeness! Only just moved to the area and do a lot of DIY, shame as I dont feel inclined to return.

Excellent shop. All the tools a novice needs and wood cut to size. Highly recommended.
