Terrible customer service, the manager is a very rude condescending woman. Came in at 430 and was told they shut at 5 and the kitchen was closed. As someone who both works in the industry and as a mystery shopper I find this unacceptable if you close at 5 that's when the kitchen gets cleaned down and not before. She made us feel unwelcome and was very up herself. A real shame as when I've been and she's not there it's lovely. All other reviews I've read seem to mirror this, maybe time for a change of management/ownership!

I took my friend here today for afternoon tea and was disappointed and embarrassed that I had. The manager served us and when we ordered tea cakes she said that it was past breakfast time and that we couldn't order from the breakfast menu. I then asked what other foods we could order and she was rude and didn't suggest anything else.. She said that the kitchen was too busy and could not cook too much?! we felt awkward so just ordered tea an cake. My friend then pointed out that the two tables near us (who came after us) were eating scambeled eggs/toast etc. Bad service! Not going back &#1280

This is a pretty and quaint tea shop that is fitting to the area. The cakes are nice and some of the staff are very pleasant to speak with. However, the owner/ manager is simply rude and does not have any customer service skills at all. She made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome within the shop. I had heard a similar opinion from a friend but I like to give people a chance, especially independently owned businesses. My advice to this lady is: make people feel welcome, appreciate your customers & do not take for granted as your business will not survive with an attitude like yours!

Avoid this place - it looks pretty but the service is dreadful. As others have said they forget things ie the food you have ordered. I asked for a soup - sold out so I asked for another type of soup -sold out. So I ordered a baked potato and a coffee - not exactly challenging. The coffee came but my lunch was forgotten. Maybe I would have understood if they were run off their feet but there were only 2 other people in. When was clearly in the media and the cook or manageress came out and asked this customer to listen to a demo of someone singing and then came out again to get feedback but I was ignored. After 45 minutes I gave up and went to pay for my coffee and complained. The manager couldn't have cared less and didn't even apologise nor did she attempt to make any recompense. The waitress asked 'So will you just be paying for the coffee?' Well Yes as you didn't bother to serve me anything else!!! What's the point of spending money to make your tea shop look all pretty and twee if you can't be bothered to serve your customers?!!

Lovely shop, the staff are always friendly and the scones are the best I have tasted.

Only problem, staff always forget something!

This shop needs to take some tips from High Tea of Highgate. The scones tasted like Sainsbury’s own brand and the staff was miserable and slow

I live within walking distance and it would be great to have a good, local, independently run tea shop but this unfortunately is not it

I sat waiting to be served for too long and the tea was a bit on the cold side. Also, the manager of this shop is very unhelpful. I would not recommend that you go to it

Wonderful, tea, coffee, cakes, sandwiches. They do breakfast too.
Very polite.

2 points they could improve on, wish they took cards not just cash and also wished they stayed open later.

Otherwise very relaxing pleasant surroundings and service.
Have your say
