North of Wood Green and Palmers Green you will find Winchmore Hill, home to the infamous Priory Clinic where General Pinochet received medical attention while under arrest, and where Amy Winehouse checked herself in to battle her addictions to drugs and alcohol. Despite this notorious claim to fame, Winchmore Hill is a rather sleepy area, characterised by its leafy roads and large houses. Winchmore Hill Green contains quaint furniture shops and boutiques and there are various pubs, however don’t expect to see too many young faces downing the pints. The overground rail station links to Finsbury Park, Highbury & Islington, Old Street and Moorgate.
