while visiting my uncle jim who was a porter in carrington house way back in 1997 i will never forget the late night snack [after a few beers in the nearby shepards tavern] and the fab breakfast we had in the piccolo bar.the food was faultless and the service was fab| myself and my wife still talk about it to this day. being from ireland its been a while but next time im in london first port of call will be the piccolo bar in mayfair.keep up the good work. gerry caffrey, mullingar ireland
Not at all fancy and quite worn looking (it's been here for many years). However, for an inexpensive "comfort food" take-out meal (spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, various types of grilled chicken, etc.), very edible and very good value. Indeed, in this neighborhood, uniquely good value. When faced with boring food at exhorbitant prices while staying alone in the many hotels in the area, a short walk to Piccolo Bar solves my problem. Often quite crowded with value-seekers around dinner time, a good sign. If you want an ale (or two) to go with dinner, take a short walk down Curzon Street to the Tesco Express and buy whatever you need.
