I brought in a hifi for JJ to repair. I was told if I paid £20 they’d look at it & phone me within a wk to explain the problem, & how much it’d cost to fix. After 8 days, I phoned, as they hadn’t got back to me, & they said the item had been repaired & was available for collection. On entering, they charged £60 for my repair, bringing the total to £80 without giving me any prior warning of how much it’d cost, as they’d said they would when I first went in (I simply wouldn’t have had it fixed for that cost if I’d known). I think this was done purposefully & would recommend a more honest ethic.
