This post relates to the Green Motion car rental company. Our experience was at the Heathrow location, but based on other complaints we read, they have many unsatisfied customers throughout the company. DO NOT use this company!!! We booked with them in August and had numerous problems from the time we arrived including:
1. Booked a Prius or similar - we have been told they do not actually have any Prius cars at the Heathrow location and the Gatwick location only has Prius cars available for "long term corporate rentals".
2. We were given the car well below empty and directed to the nearest gas station to fill up. Directions were unclear, car rental located on a very busy road and we missed the petrol station and then spent 20 minutes panicked in the very busy London traffic trying to find another one.
3. Car stopped shifting on the way home. Green Motion closes a 8 pm so nobody to call until the am. Then directed to call Vauxhall as the car was under warranty. Rental agency said they would not do anything to help us until Vauxhall came out to determine the problem and refused to offer us a refund for lost time or a replacement car.
4. Our Contract with Ace Rent A Car stated the car was valid to drive in Western Europe. Upon picking up the car we were informed that there would be a very large surcharge to take the car to France for three days and that we would have to pay it for the duration of our rental (10 days) instead of just the time we were in France....much to our children's dismay we had to cancel the side trip as the additional cost was too much.
We had more problems than is possible to post here however we have been so appalled
