City Centre

I took a new (worn only twice) pair of cotton shorts to City Centre Dry Cleaners in September ’21. The shorts were in perfect condition save for two tiny marks on the seat, each about 1mm in size.

On collecting the shorts a few days later, I was dismayed to find large black smears on the front. Furthermore, the colour of the shorts, previously consistent, was now streaked and faded.

On pointing out the above problems to the warm and delightful [staff member], I was told that the problems would be rectified. She assured me that all would be well, and said that the colour streaking could be rectified by re-dying the shorts. She told me that her manager would call me to discuss. She kept the shorts and gave me another ticket.

I returned to City Centre Dry Cleaners a week later, having heard nothing from her manager. The shorts were there again, having been sent away for further cleaning. I was surprised that this had been done before any contact from the manager.

This time, the black smears that City Centre Dry Cleaners had somehow made on the front of the shorts had been removed. However, the streaking and fading of the colour of the shorts was more pronounced. Also, the shorts were looking tired from the aggressive cleaning that had clearly be undertaken to remove the black smears.

I told the staff member that I was surprised not to have heard from her manager. She apologised and assured me that he would call. I left the shorts with her pending hearing from the manager. I waited for a week but heard nothing.

I returned to City Centre Dry Cleaners today, collected my shorts from her and advised her that, regrettably, I now found it necessary to leave this review.

The have damaged my silk blouse ( returned it with more stains and creased all over), were rude admitting it. Also, the light coloured trousers were returned with marks from the iron. I am personally not coming back.
