I was verbally attacked by the shop owner as a result of bringing back a piece of designer knitwear, which they had damaged during their cleaning service. After showing him the damage, he offered to send it to his tailor for repair at first. I hesitated, as I wasn't sure whether their tailor would be able to fix the delicate knitwear without causing any more damage to it. My hesitation somehow set him off on a rampage, claiming that they had never done any damage of this kind. Me standing there with proof in my hands that in fact they have done so didn't seem to interest him. He got so weirdly defensive and aggressive for no reason—I remained calm for the whole time—and then started to yell at me in this creepy way. He was calling me "stupid" and was verbally attacking me in this agitated way to a point that I got scared that he would become physically violent. I left the shop in utter shock and was actually considering calling the police. I might report his antisocial behavior to a consumer rights organisation. Beyond that, they ruined a very expensive piece of designer knitwear and did not reimburse the costs involved in repairing it, which I'll have to pay for now out of pocket elsewhere. Please do yourself a favor and choose another dry cleaner: the quality of service is poor and the customer service is toxic and erratic.
