City Dry Cleaning

I took a jacket with an ink stain on the outside chance it could be disappeared. Norman gave me the worst case scenario, so as not to disappoint and one week later a beautifully cleaned garment! I cannot see where the stain was, a brilliant outcome, better than I expected.

I have just picked up a skirt they dyed for me (cream skirt to navy) and it's looking really great - evenly dyed, good colour. The staff were helpful as I asked lots of questions beforehand and they explained everything well - pros and cons. It only took a couple of days too. All in all I'm happy.

They are fairly pricey for what I'm used to in the DC. I drop dresses and shirts off regularly and have never had a problem.

They usually ask for 1 business days to dry clean one or two white dresses, which is a longer turnover time than is necessary. However, I believe if you are in a rush they will do their best to do same day.

They do accept American Express cards though no minimum which also adds to the convenience of the visit. Most of the other cleaners near by are cash only.

As the previous reviewer said, their shirt service is a waste of time and money. I've been to them a couple of times. Both times they hadn't dried the shirts properly. Both times I had to iron them all again myself because they'd done them so badly.

Each time I pick up my shirts from this place they're still damp and they're always badly ironed. The crease on the sleeves in never anywhere near the seam, they're often creased on the collar and cuffs and twice they've come back with stains on them. I agree they're cheap - with good reason.

Very disappointed. I went with a friend as she needed to get a belt altered. We clearly stated this was urgent but they got the dates wrong & when i went to pick it up they said the alteration requested was impossible but they didn't call. Customer before me was very unhappy too.

City dry cleaners is superb. Not only do they offer a quick and reliable service but their alterations department is very good. After breaking my leg they helped me modify several different pairs of trousers for a really reasonable price. Highly recommended.

This is the worst customer service I have ever received.
Firstly the lady at the desk tried to short change, and secondly when I tried to pick up my garment after paying for it up front they tried to charge me for a second time.
They didn't issue me a receipt for my payment and then when I tried to argue my case they refused to check their system to check whether or not I had paid and then shouted at me saying they "Never take payments upfront"
I even went home to try and find the 'receipt' i was supposed to have been given - I went through my whole bin and found nothing - after all of of that and returning to the shop they still didn't believe me.

I think they need to think about how they treat their local customers and if they 'don't take payments up front' then they shouldn't allow it and then charge twice.

The manager was extremely rude to me and the lady at the desk refused to try and help the situation.

Great, no-nonsense service. A friend who worked in the bridal industry recommended this place to clean my gown (I bought it from a sample sale and it was filthy) since that is where his company would always send their garments to. They were fast (even apologetic that I would have to wait an extra day since Monday was a holiday) and my dress came back clean and packaged nicely. Their price was slightly cheaper than other places that specialize in weddings (i.e. they don't have the requisite wedding markup).

This is one of the best dry cleaners in London. Not only can you get your expensive garments cleaned here but they also do shoe repairs and curtain cleaning & Key Cutting.

The service is extremely upper class high and your clothes always come back looking like new. It is perhaps not that expensive than the average dry cleaners in the “Old Street”.

You can even open an account with them which means that they will collect from you any evening from 7pm to 10pm on a regular basis free of charge - very handy.

City Dry Cleaners on Curtain Road is a reliable dry cleaners also offering alteration services. Offering free delivery and pick up on jobs over £20, City Dry Cleaners is definitely cheaper than many of the dry cleaners nearer Liverpool Street Station and is good at simple hemming jobs and, obviously, dry cleaning.

Running a little vintage business - and being a complete sewing novice - I'm in and out of City Dry Cleaners all the time. Their knowledgeable staff are a pleasure to deal with and if you ask really nicely they can sometimes complete alterations in very little time.
