Lewis & Lewis

I had a bad back and took a taxi to Lewis & Lewis with my broken Roberts Radio. I explained I couldn't go away and then collect it when it was mended. They fixed it immediately. The Radio is now good as new. The owner then offered me a lift back to near where I lived saving my return taxi fare

Have shopped here for over 30 years and contrary to a previous poster the ownership has never changed in that time. A wonderful little "Aladdin's Cave" of hard to find domestic parts and lots of useful household items. They can fix virtually anything with a plug on it, and they constantly amaze me with the spare parts they manage to source (including bits for my 50 year old Kenwood Cheff!!). In today's disposable society this shop is a wonderful blast from the past. Highly recommended.

worst customer service i've ever experienced. Definitely don't use this store under any circumstances. Staff didn't repair an item i dropped in with them, stalled and gave me deadlines that they kept missing. They then said they would order a part but 3 weeks later it hadn't come in and they couldn't trace. They were rude and aggressive to deal with. Never again.. Back to John Lewis!

This is another of those firms that has changed hands and kept the name of the original reputable firm. The new firm charges five pounds up front and then said they were unable to fix a BOSCH (standard make) electric kettle. We had to chase them to see what was happening about the repair, they did not bother to let us know and then we had the inconvenience of having to go and get the unrepaired kettle back. From our experience, this firm is to be avoided.

Over a period of many years Lewis & Lewis have always been able to solve problems that have defeated other firms. They are particularly good at finding spare parts or repairing discontinued items. Magical !
