Best fish and chip shop in London...superb.

been going here for years on and off its all ways hit and miss, food is how you like 1 day and totally horrible the next ,problem is the staff are not too friendly and speak to you like your a complete idiot,im done with this place and will never go here again,people think this place is great because its got some history and its on portobella rd and some famous people have eaten there,so what you wont be treated like the famous person even though your moneys the same and you pay the same,and its very expensive,Mr fish in queensway london w2 is a far superior in food quality price & manners

The Food is excellent i have no complaint there. However the staff a rude and abrupt with most customers, especially is you need to ask a question. I stood in the queue today and they was so coarse with the lady in front as asked for chips and nuggets in a pitta bread. They told her "you want a nugget special" like she was a school girl. I asked for a doner kebab once and was told i had to tell them if i wanted it in a pitta bread as i was given meat in a box. A little patience and manner to your customers guys.

This is the best chip shop in the world. my wife and i travel from Oxford to buy the food from this fantastic take away. i've never wanted to eat a Kebab whilst sober till i've tasted a full flavoured treat from Georges. i grew up around Georges fish bar from when i was a kid and thought all chip shops where the same, i am afraid they are not and Georges is the best. i have been all around the uk and the world and would travel miles to sample the fresh cooked and full flavoured food from the best chip shop in the world.
