In November 2012 the level of service that I received and the length the funeral home of the Brixton branch went to accommodate the needs of everyone.
It was spectacular having the extra help to service the language barrier of being Portuguese.
Mai I ad that they also helped with the flowers arrangements.
I am still paying the rest of the money that owe them as a result of the benefits agency not paying the full funeral amount and they have being very patient.
They gave me all the information needed to make the right choices.
May i say this is what i call excellent customer service; they

Marcia was wonderful. I have never lost any family members until this point. I didn't have a clue. My newborn son past away 20th May 2010. I am so happy with everything that was done and hoe professional it was. The aftercare service was also great.

Through it all Marcia was there to support, advice, encourage and I truly can go as far as to say I felt 100% confident that everything would be alright and it was. At times I had to remind myself that my family were not the only family they had to assist; as the service seemed so ‘personal yet professional’ Marcia went over and above her duty to ensure we were happy. At no stage did you feel ‘rushed’ visits to the office was very pleasant and the day of daddy’s sending home Colin was a star, a very welcomed one who made sure everything went smoothly (everything within his control that is!)

I couldn’t think of a better way to say a big ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone at Ashtons in Brixton than sharing my experience with the World Wide Web!

Funerals...I attended numerous in the past but never had the experience of arranging one until my mother passed suddenly in December 2009. Ashton was wonderful!

I met Marcia on my first tearful, heart wrenching visit and immediately felt her warmth, saw her comforting, reassuring smile which somehow put me at ease. I even asked her for a hug when she had finished sorting out EVERYTHING! The service was so professional yet there was still a genuine caring and loving atmosphere. Marcia cannot imagine how she impacted on my life that day. Mummy's funeral was wonderful everything was perfect and Ashton's helped to make this possible.

I never imagined that less than a year later my father would pass away, on 29th October 2010 Daddy passed and without hesitation I called Ashton's and spoke to Marcia. Despite friends and family telling me to 'shop around' my mind was already made up, it could only be Ashton in Brixton. Daddy died at home so it was totally different to Mummy and I was guided through what to do and given the chance to spend time with my daddy and other family members had the opportunity to visit him at home before he had to leave. This helped me immensely with my grieving as 'daddy, was still only sleeping, at home, in his bed'

When it was time to let him go, and the ambulance arrived they explained what they were going to do, again the warmth and softness in their voices and their body language made everything less painful. We were given time alone with daddy, we were also given the opportunity to assist if we wished. Again, I gave them ALL a hug before they took my daddy ( yes I am very affectionate but I needed a hug or two)I helped to put him in the ambulance and sent him off knowing he was in very, very good hands.

Losing a loved one is very painful and emotions come from places you never knew existed. Through it all Marcia was there to support, advice, encourage and I truly can go as far as to say I felt 100% confident that everyth

This review is written because I feel Ashtons deserve a write up reflecting why they are highly recommended. When my Uncle passed away in August 2009, it was the first time either myself, brother or Mum was personally responsible for funeral preparations. There is so much to do, all in the throes of grief. This is where Ashtons in Brixton helped us so much. Marcia, the wonderful manager, is an extremely helpful, respectful and lovely woman. She is empathetic, down to earth and helps guide you through every facet of a funeral. She became such a friendly face, we would drop in whilst in the area just to update her on our side of arrangements, i.e. the wake, inviting people, food etc. The parlour is peaceful, not morbid, which made coming in and the eventual viewing much easier. The funeral itself was so well handled and respectful too.

I'm writing this review because Ashtons made a tremendously difficult occasion a little easier. We don't live in the area, and repeated visits were maximised with Marcia's advice and knowledge of the area re churches etc. This was also the most recommended company from local friends of my Uncle. There are various payment options; a factor I mention because funerals are admittedly a costly expense (Funeral Fund can help, if in need). However, you don't begrudge that when the service and support are professional and organised, allowing family and friends to give a dignified and deserved send off like my Uncle had. I highly recommend the Ashtons team, streets above that 'budget brand' Brixton co-op who were absolutely AWFUL at consultation (on entering the shop, I was asked brusquely 'what do you want?'!!).
