Really lovely, small gardening shop. Offers great 1-2-1 service which you just don't get at bland monoliths like B&Q or Homebase. We've bought numerous flowers, plants & gardening equipment from here over the past 18 mths or so and all have been excellent quality. They offer good advice too.

I've been to Wimbledon Gardener several times recently (since the new owners took over) and have had good experiences every time. They know their stuff and give useful advice and even help with carrying heavy stuff to the car. Good to be able to support a well run local business.

I visited WG looking for some easy care, shade loving plants and the advice and service I received was very helpful; they showed me the plants I wanted that they had, offered to order in those they didn't and recommended others that I might use instead. Overall a positive experience.

Dreadful service

A complete lack of service and professionalism - I booked for them to view my garden but they didn't even show up and despite calling they didn't even bother to say they weren't coming, despite the fact I live around the corner.

Even when I went in to complain, he didn't even show any courtesy, carrying on working rather than focus on a potential customer willing to spend £000's!!

Unfortunate to have such a presence in Southfields...you'd think they would want to be part of the local community.

Just wanted to say thank you to the Wimbledon Gardener (again! as previous comments mistakenly erased by all in london!)for making xmas tree buying such a pleasure. We bought our tree in the snow with the children and had a wonderful time. Staff helpful and friendly and the shop looked wonderful. I think the shop is under new management now so we wish them good luck in 2011!

Advertised hours are 10-6 7 days a week. I waited till 10.15 this morning and no-one turned up. Hopeless way to run a business.

Shocking! Just had a call from my elderly mother who was nearly in tears at the way she has just be spoken to and treated by wimbledon gardner (WG). My mother has a large camelia she wanted pushed back for a while. So as a treat for her, I popped into the shop to see if WG could help. They were very nice and visited my mother to see what needed to be done. My mother was told it would take less than an hour and WG would fill in the rest of the hour sprucing up the garden (it is very small),and quoted me for job.
WG did not turn up. My mother called and was told that they had a big job and could not come around for a few months, but then arranged another time.
Two men showed up and did not have a clue about what the plants were. The camelia was pushed back with an existing rotten piece of string that had been used previously ( I had been quoted a price for equipment that would be used). One man spent most of the hour chatting to a passerby in the front garden and the other soldiered on with the camelia. The string then snapped and then more time was spent rectifying their work. WG hacked all the rose bushes and we are not sure if they will grow again. During all this my mother was asked if she would be using them again. My mother visited WG to talk about what had gone on but WG was out.
The invoice arrived this morning requesting money for each man for double the time!! My mother called WG and was told that he had already been to the house and was he expected to go again and he should not have visited in the first place. As to how he would quote for a job without seeing it I do not know? WG started shouting at my mother with it ending with WG asking for my mother not to pay anything at all. My mother replied saying that she would pay for the job done but quite frankly I am shocked that a shop can behave in such an atrocius, rude manner to an elderly person who has been a member of the community for 38 years.
In short, be wary.....

We have used Wimble's Landscape Gardeners and I can't recommend them more highly!! The owners are very service orientated and did an outstanding job in our garden. We have since started using them on a regular basis for garden maintenance and could not be happier. They are hard working, very knowledgeable and always do an outstanding job. www.wimblesgardenservice.co.uk

Totally don,t agree with the other review. I found the owner to the point , constructive and helpful and obviously knows his stuff. I didn,t find him arrogant just very busy - surely a good sign. I didn,t have a big job but i would definately use him again.

The previous posting is correct- the owner is arrogant and opinionated.

In his dealings with customers his sole concern is financial gain at the expense of service delivery. In observing the relationship he has with his staff- His management style is dictatorial and overbearing.

The allotted time for jobs is over-quoted often being twice what it should be.

Other southwest London companies would definitely offer far better value for money and service with a personal touch.

owner does not care about small jobs. do not use them. Too arrogant and aloof with his customers. Far better using Eds Garden Maintenance - cheaper and better service. Owner of Wimbledon Gardener doesn't care enough and has forgotten where he is based only concentrating on big jobs.
