Do not be deceived by the hotel-like appearance, patients in the adolescent unit are often treated like pets by the nurses. They are cooped up in a small poorly ventilated ward and each patient spends 3 working days in a row imprisoned with usually 1 or 2 plates of food brought up which is often left in the kitchen ,locked away then thrown away a few hours later. The nurses patronise patients and talk to many of them as if they’re stupid or toddlers and they don’t stop pestering patients until they lose their cool. Some nurses sneeze and cough in patients rooms knowing the windows can't be opened. Some are quick to apply last resort methods such as dragging and restraining for things such as complaining about being locked up or refusing to go to their room during the day, though they don’t have to according to hospital rules. When patients have a health issue nurses pretend they’re helping by doing observations, but don’t actually help unless they’re bleeding. Others will see someone having an asthma attack and tell them to go away like nothing is happening and they'll pretend it’s imagined. Some patients have been threatened to be injected if they don’t return to their room. Others are prescribed overdoses by some consultants even after reporting awful effects such as unconsciousness. Others are prescribed drugs they are allergic to even after notifying nurses, and their parents have complained yet parents are told they are being irresponsible. Most patients stay indoors for the most of the day and the educational facility is poor; the teacher only helps with English basic Math and Law. The actual room is easily crowded. There is hardly anything in the ward to do other than watch TV or old board games. Lies are told to the patients’ consultant to have leave cancelled so some stay indoors for weeks to months on end. Some nurses lie to get patients injected others call patients psychotic for saying Jesus is God. If you love your child do not take them to the Priory
