The Camden Council parking shop is only necessary because applications for parking permits by post or email take ten working days. Yes, Camden Council has succeeded in making the fastest communications and purchasing system ever devised - the internet - slower than the cart and horse. Just imagine how much time could be saved if thousands of people did not have to make the journey to these council premises to stand in line while paper is shuffled around by people who clearly hate their jobs and their customers. Or maybe that's the point - it's a job creation programme in which transactions by email and post are deliberately made so slow that customers have to show up in person. Camden Council once again leads the way in bureaucracy and the provision of anti-services.
