I bought a newspaper here and without realising it dropped my purse in front of the counter. I only discovered the loss when I reached the Tate Britain I was visiting. With little hope of finding it I retraced my steps. As soon as I went back to the shop the newsagent recognised me, asked me to confirm my name and then brought out my purse he had been keeping safe. If there had been a contact number in my purse he would have rung me. He asked me to check that everything was still there which it most certainly was. I consider myself extremely fortunate that the actions of this honest and considerate newsagent saved me from the consequences of my carelessness. He has my heartfelt thanks.

Do not use this shop. I have never met a ruder man. I made a pledge a few years ago not to go in this shop again but gave them the benefit of the doubt and picked up a courier parcel from here. What a mistake. I was treated with disdain and contempt from the minute I approached the counter for no discernable reason. I am an extremely polite person and was shocked by this mans aggressive attitude.
