Achilles Heels

Not a great experience.
I had to chase them for about 1 month to get an update on the repair of my handbag. They never called me back even though I was leaving my phone number and a description of the bag on each of my calls. Eventually they found the bag and fixed the handles in not the best way with recycled handles from a different bag, they weren’t even new.
The job wasn’t cheap either and I had to pay in cash. I would not recommend this place.

I went to this wonderful shop a few times in 2019. I wear vegetarian shoes and several pairs were starting to look a bit sorry for themselves so I took them in one by one. I explained I was a vegetarian and preferred them not to use animal glues or anything like that.

They were as good as their word, which hasn't always been the case when I've gone elsewhere - they kept to using non-animal products.

There was one pair where they took longer than they'd meant to. I was fine with it but they weren't - they're real perfectionists so they said I could bring a pair in that needed to be polished and they'd polish them up free of charge. It was so kind of them! They did exactly that and the results were fantastic!

Another time I went there and they ought actually to've shut for the day and they were still open so I went inside. They asked me to come back in 15 minutes, which I did. They then asked me to wait for a few minutes while they finished off my shoes for me. I went away and came back and they finished a pair of shoes they were working on, which took them until comfortably after they should have gone home... it turned out that there'd been a mix-up in communication - my fault, I'm sure. They weren't my shoes so I felt bad - they'd stayed behind for nothing! Mine had been done ages earlier and were neatly waiting for me to take them home.

They were very nice about the mix-up. A really good, hard-working, professional outfit - and very reasonable prices!
