First Hell Pizza ordered tonight not great at all, I expected gourmet type pizza but the base and most of the pizza's ordered were very similar to the cardboard pizza's you would get from the cheap chain pizza restaurants. The garlic bread and garlic mayo were bland and flavourless, the onion rings the kind of pre bought mass catering frozen variety. The breaded brie however was good. We tried hell as they had a gluten free option. If you need gluten free then they are your only option, though I would suggest ordering just the gluten free option from Hell and then using a decent pizza company for the rest of your party's order. Expensive and disappointing.

We strayed because of the onion rings!!
After a failed attempt at ordering online and over an hour later, feeling more than a little peckish we rang the branch to find out what the delay was.
We had to place our order again over the phone, the assistant was attentive and caring about our predicament.
The pizza arrived 15mins after the phone call but was £2.50 more than quoted on the (we asked for discount which was granted, this equated to £3.50 discount but minus the £2.50 gave us a massive £1 saving.
The onion rings were very good but sadly the ciabatta garlic bread was a french stick not much different from a Sainsburys version. The pizza was a fry cry from the usual top notch offerings on Lavender Hill. The biscuity base was not dissimilar to the buy your own base and put your own toppings on version.
Not overly impressed and will not stray again.

Fave place for pizza in London. Great range of unique tasty pizzas, including gluten-free.
I especially like the pizza boxes that can be converted into a coffin for your leftovers!
They do deals most days on twitter @hellclapham.

Wow, what superb pizzas! I stumbled across Hell Pizza the other day. I haven't got round to trying the dessert pizzas yet but will definitely give them a go next time. Service was good and pizzas arrived hot (we had them delivered). They were generous with their toppings and I liked it how there was a vegan option on the menu (although I'm not vegan).
Have your say
