Worst haircut I have ever had. Showed a picture of what I wanted. The hairdresser cut off my whole fringe and said this is better than the picture. Avoid at all costs.

I went to this shop because my friend who said their hair cut was cheap. I went there around evening and the shop was quite crowded and i needed to wait outside for about 15 minutes just standing. They posted the sign "hair cut for 10pounds" and i think that this is the way they try to get attention from the people. I was thinking about hair treatment as my hair is dry and he told me that it was 20 pounds. I was quite ok with the price and did the treatment but they charged me for 53pounds for total bill and i was so shocked. Moreover, I just want to have my fringe cut and a bit trimming for the end but my hairdresser started to cut a lot of my hair. I thought that it supposed to be 20 pounds hair cut according to their price chart for long hair and 20 pounds treatment. He said it was not possible because my hair was quite long and he charged 35 pounds for the hair cut. I was damn ****ed and i just remind myself that this will be the first and last time for this shop. I won't recommend anyone to have hair cut in that shop definitely. You can get better service anywhere else with that price.

I called into 1st Cut on Monday 8th November. Despite the date, it was not my lucky day. From the outset, I made it clear that all I required was wash & cut. My hairdresser was very keen that I should have a perm as he described my hair as "thin". I do not have thin hair. Previously my hair has always been described as thick by all the hairdressers I have used. As I was only in Chinatown for a short period, I said to him that I did not have the time for a perm. I explained that if I was happy with the haircut, I would return at a later date for a perm. He did not seem to be able to take no for an answer and repeatedly kept suggesting the perm, saying that the haircut would be free as long as I paid £90 for the perm. I normally expect a visit to the hairdresser to be a relatively relaxing experience which was certainly not the case by this stage. Haircuts in this establishment are advertised in the window with prices "from" rather than with fixed prices. Under normal circumstances, I would usually find this acceptable but on this occasion I felt it was just another opportunity to extract the maximum amount of cash from each customer. The friend who was accompaying me had been told that my haircut would be £30. This was clearly not acceptable to my hairdresser who directed a series of twitches, gestures & hand signals in the direction of the cashier who proceeded to charge me £35. Needless to say, I shall never again be returning to the 1st Cut salon. I appreciate that running a business in these difficult times is challenging but I would suggest that attempts to blatantly fleece each & every customer that walks through the door is not a recipe for success.
