I wanted to try a new local hairdresser to get my hair done for my birthday and my friend noticed this cute looking place on a side street. I had photos I’d found online of how i wanted my hair, and also photos of my previously curled hair at different lengths. She kept saying if i had layers i couldn’t get a certain style (fair enough), but then i asked her did i still have layers at the back she said no. What my hair became was a fluffed up mess with a gallon of hairspray, the complete opposite of the sleek curls asked for. I told her it wasn’t what i wanted and she brushed everything out and went over the curls ultimately making them go funny and limp. I left there half in tears because i was now going to be late for my own party. She knew i was angry and upset and she charged me anyway. In a stupid embarrassed state i paid and ran out. Can’t believe they billed me! Never again.

I have been coming to this salon off and on over the past 5 years. Always a decent haircut. Until now. The haircut was horrible. One side of my hair was clearly around 2-3cm longer than the other. The layers were so clumpy and did not sit well at all. It was so bad that I didn't even want to go back and ask him to redo it. The next day I had to go somewhere else to get my hair fixed since it looked so horrible. I would never recommend anyone to come to this salon, it is not what it used to be.

Great hair salon in Hampstead. Bright, clean with a relaxing atmosphere. I have been going to Ellie at Venus & Mars for about two years. She was recommended to me and is brilliant with colour. She highlights beautifully, taking a lot of trouble and the end result is always fabulous. She also cuts my hair, always listening and doing exactly what I want. My daughter who lives in South London travels to Hampstead so Ellie can do her highlight and cut her hair. She loves the results and looks great too!

Yesterday Ellie did my highlights and cut my hair and the results were amazing. She took time to understand what I wanted and made great suggestions. Then she used two different colours and what felt like a million foils to create beautiful natural-looking highlights. She applied the same perfectionism and attention to detail to the haircut. I am very happy with the results and will be going back. Thank you, Ellie.

I was recommended Ellie at Venus & Mars by a friend and went and got my highlights done and an amazing cut for about half the price of my old hairdresser and much better. Very friendly service and took twice the time and trouble that my old hairdressers took.

I've been going to Venus and Mars salon in Hampstead for the last tow years.
I have never been more happy the staff that work there are so friendly and welcoming and I have never been more happy with my colour, cuts and blow drys.
There prices are amazing!!

A fantastic salon with friendly, professional staff, I absolutely LOVE my hair cut and colour. Jacob you are brilliant, and great to se such a warm smile whenever I come in. Everyone is lovely at the salon, well done! Highly recommended if you want a great style/colour with fabulous friendly hairdressers.

A friendly 'safe pair of hands' hairdressers! Competitive rates... any haircut for £12 (quality of cut is unbelievable), 'walk in off the street' first come, first served to the more sophisticated colour requests - have enjoyed both. They style your hair exactly the way you want, and are happy to offer suggestions if you just fancy a change. Just as many men come in as women. The Salon is very clean and bright, the music buzzy and foot-tapplingly pleasant - I've visited 4 times, graduating from very long dark hair to a short, blonde highlighted, choppy bob. There's no 'hard sell'. Good quality shampoos and styling products used... its by far my favourite Hampstead Hairdresser because you come out looking like yourself except younger. Jakub the Canadian is its shining star and such a gent.
