I've been going to Jamm for nearly 5 years now and they're wonderful. Fiz and the girls always give fabulous service, and they're so friendly. Happy to give advice about styles but won't force you into a look you're not comfortable with. Going to get my hair cut here is always a real treat.

Wow!

The most amazing salon experience ever anywhere I have ever been! Maresce packs in a fun, exclusive, and relaxed experience into your time. You really feel like you are at a pyjama party rather than getting your hair done. The girls are great, service is to die for!

To feel pampered like a queen or king, I would definitely recommend this salon, this is one to watch in the future!

Fiz and the girls at Jamm are so friendly. I feel like family every time I turn up. I foolishly went elsewhere to get my haircut when I was super busy with work and I had to go back to Fiz to get it done right. She always has style tips to help your cut go further. Best haircut I've had in London!

I have been visiting Jamm Hair for a year now and wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. Fizz and the stylists at this friendly salon go above and beyond to make you feel amazing, listening to your needs and helping you familiarise with your style when you want to recreate your look at home!

Fizz has been doing my hair for the last 3 years. I like her approach - she works with you, suggesting new ideas and products and at the same time listening to what you want. I always come out feeling like a new person!

A great salon that I would recommend to anyone. I've been going there for a couple of years and despite not living in the area anymore i keep coming back to Jamm hair. All the staff, and Fiz in particular, are great - really friendly and know what they're doing. I took the plunge and had my hair cut short a year ago on Fiz's advice and haven't looked back since! The stylists really have an eye for what will suit you and are so nice that you trust them entirely. They can sometimes be busy but thats all part of the charm and you're never made to feel you're in the way like in so many London salons.
Lovely place, good value for money and always full of regulars which is never a bad thing!

I have been visiting Jamm Hair for about 3 years now and have never had so many compliments on my hair! After trying out many different London salons I have finally found somewhere I actually feel like a person rather than a 'client' being rushed in and rushed out without any personal attention.

Fizz is great fun and gives great advice. I can turn up with a picture of something I like and she knows how to find the best way to incorporate it into my look.

Jamm is a throwback to the small town hairdressers that I grew up with - in a good way. You are treated like a friend whenever you come in and I always look forward to my next visit. Would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for not only a great cut / colour but also a great overall experience.

I've been coming to Jamm Hair for nearly 6 months now and swear that the experience gets better every time. On my first visit, I was greeted by a bubbly and enthusiastic Fiz, who sat me down for a consultation and immediately understood the issues I'd had with my most recent haircut (where was the shape and style, how did I end up with curtains??) It was a relief to find a stylist who not only listened to me, but who seemed to have a solution! I was then sent off for a delicious 10 minutes in the massage chair and a free treatment with my wash, before arriving back to a glass of wine to steady my nerves before going for Fiz's recommended fringe chop.

Needless to say, I was delighted with my new look, and have continued to be at each return visit, where Fiz finds new ways to encourage me to look after my hair better (and tell me off for not stopping in for a fringe trim - next time, I promise!) The service is really personal and I now don't feel the slightest bit insecure about plonking myself down for an hour with a magazine and a glass of wine, and not moving until I have been thoroughly pampered.

The salon is small and busy, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality, both in decoration and staff. Having been a customer of larger salon chains in the past (and consistently dissatisfied with paying so much money for an average cut and to feel like I was wasting theit time by being there) it's a genuine delight to visit Jamm and not want to leave! Thanks guys! X

I have been a client of Jamm Hair for about a year and can only post a rave review.
Fiz is my hairdresser and she is amazing! Fiz is always bubbly, friendly and geniuinly listens to your questions and concerns. Fiz offers honest, real and extremely helpful advice. Fiz always takes the time to give you a dedicated experience. Just yesterday, I went to Fiz with many many questions and concerns about the unhealthiness of my hair. Fiz was patient, answered all my questions and actually showed me what to do, and put a plan together to improve my hair. Fiz is a talented stylist and I am always happy when I leave Jamm. I feel valued at Jamm. When I compare this to previous experiences (Rush for example) I do not receive the same friendly, dedicated experience. Rush literally want to rush you in and out. The girls at Jamm are real and geniunly care for their clients.

I have been a client at Jamm Hair for two years and have decided now to post my review since I can give an honest account of my experiences. Fiz has been my stylist the whole time and I continue to return to her because she is inventive and creative. I always leave feeling great and excited as we work together to craete a style that suits my character. Within this time I have recommeded my boyfriend to visit her and he has also been very pleased with the results since she is able to work with his Italian flare and need for trend. Fiz has managed to develop a colour regime to last and therefore not break my bank account for which I am very greatful. As for the other stylists and assistants it is so nice to she her mentor them and help them grow. If I was to point out any negativity with Jamm it is that they are always busy and sometimes you are left alone for a while which might bother some people but for me I am happy to wait with my glass of wine and a book because I know I will leave satisfied. Good stylists are hard to find and I will follow Fiz for as long as I can. Thank you!

Fantastic! I recently moved to London and was anxious to find a hair salon in my neighbourhood. Jamm Hair was recommended to me by a friend so I gave it a shot and never looked back!

The atmosphere is friendly and I'm always greeted with a cup of tea (sometimes wine if it's been a tough day at the office) and a relaxing massage hair wash. The stylists stay true to what's stated on their website and work with your "overall image". On my first consultation Fiz (senior designer), suggested I try something new which would suit my face shape and professional environment. It took me a third visit to take the plunge, but I'm now boasting with a fabulous new hair style for the winter and feel great!

Terrible. Been a couple of times for a cut and always thought they were very unprofessional and there was a terrible atmosphere with the manager shouting at her juniors in front of clients...but the cut was pretty good (and had it at discounted price) so I returned for a third time (at full price this time). My hair was supposed to be cut by the manager but I only spent about 5 minutes with her, whilst her junior washed and dmore heat styling by ried my hair then straightened it with straighteners to prepare it for the quick trim by Maresce then more straightener time with another junior and finally Maresce finished it with 5 seconds of hairspraying. I must add that I have severely heat damaged hair and no decent hairdresser would've allowed so much heat styling.

Yes they are friendly to clients but there is a negative energy in the salon with the manager constantly nagging her staff. Also she tries to make conversations with you but isn't even bothered to listen to you and talks to others while you're answering her questions. I don't think they manage the bookings well and always seem to be in a hurry.

I'm not looking for a hairdresser with a PhD but a bit more people's skills, customer service and professionalism would be appreciated. And £45 for an hour with a junior and a super quick dry cut is nothing but a rip off.

I have been going to Jamm Hair for a number of years and will continue to do so even though I have now moved out of London.
I always have a great experience when going to get my hair done by Maurece. She is always welcoming , as are other staff and will always make you feel most welcome no matter how busy the salon is. The prices are great and so is the service, I have always been happy with the cuts/colours that I've had, Maurece will always assess my hair before each and every cut and reccommend what she feels will be best for my hair type and skin tones at the time, suggesting changes for different seasons, events and has also been known to do my make up for me on nights that I'm going somewhere special.

The vibrating chairs and head massage while getting your hair washed are fantastic, as are the complementary hand massages. The avalibility of product's to purchase in the salon are of top quality and they never put the hard sell on you to buy them at anytime.

I have a very relaxing time when I come in to get my hair done, I never feel like I'm being rushed out of the salon and can't wait until I give birth and can have a glass of wine again whilst getting totally pampered for a few hours.

I went to Jamm Hair on a Sunday with my KGB deals voucher- I got to the Salon 15 minutes before my appointment, started my treatment about 45 minutes later. I had my head in the sink for about half an hour while the hairdresser ran up and down the stairs answering the phone and letting other clients in. The hairdresser applied colour to my hair, informing me that it would need to be left on for 45 minutes- I sat in the chair for an hour and the half and had to run upstairs twice to remind the hairdresser wash it out to make sure my hair didn't fall out.
The main problem was that there was only one hairdresser in the salon, trying to serve 3 clients at once. A tip to the salon management- do not overbook appointments when there is only one hairdresser working. Clients feel that they are not being given any attention.
As for my trim, it was alright- nothing great. Bottom line- it was a terrible 3 and a half hours in terms of service. Won't go back again.

They say you get what you pay for, so I’m a sceptic with deals that seem too good to be true. I wouldn’t normally buy a Groupon voucher as you wind up a second class citizen with a bad experience. However, as the salon had won awards in UK and Australia I was intrigued enough to take a leap of faith. So glad I did, as they did everything to live up to their reputation. The salon is upbeat, funky, informal and staff get the perfect balance between friendliness and professionalism. After the owner (Maurice?) introduced herself offering me a wine, I stopped feeling like the ‘voucher girl’ destined for a nasty experience. I asked why they did the deal, (still suspicious!) and she told me it was to build her new stylist Jodi who recently qualified and was building her clientele. I still felt a little nervous wondering if Jodi would be ok, but she carried out a really thorough consultation bouncing ideas of Maurice. So I benefitted from a really great price with advice from the top designer (Maurice told me about her competitions all over the world and even has pictures of her with Trevor Sorbie and one of her works on the wall to back it up!). My colour/cut came out amazing and they created the best look for my skin tone, etc. This was the best cut/colour I’ve had, ever, and given their very affordable prices, I’ll be back for more! They also do Hair Extensions so we are going long and blonde next time, yayy! The reason I only gave a 9 was it took a few calls to book my appointment. Staff were very friendly when calling back explaining that the take up on the KGB deal was a lot higher than expected which flooded their phone lines for a few days! Fair enough, but I’m still stingy with 10’s! Can’t recommend this salon highly enough, four of my friends have already booked an appointment after they saw my fantastic hair which I’ve never received so many compliments about! Great work Jamm! Such a good team, and the best service I’ve experienced in any business in London. Mel

Jamm where do I start - went to them with KGB deal and so glad I did.
This is an amazing salon it's not just a place to get a fantastic hair style although you will get that, but a great experience it's different, edgy yet it's not way out or over the top. This is definitely going to be where I will be going in the future even though in live in Surrey, so worth it.
Mauresce and Fiz are amazing. Fiz listened to what I wanted and took on board what I was saying whilst also suggesting new ideas for my colour that I had not considered before, she created me a whole new look and gave me a hair style I had always wanted but never achieved with previous Hairdressers.
I really liked the way you are treated as an individual. Jamm does not turn out carbon copy look-alikes of a popular syle which is what I had experienced in so many other salons, they actually listen to you. Mauresce and Fiz worked together so that I left feeling great and full of confidence with my new look.
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The staff are really enthusiastic and you feel they are passionate about what they do, they don't just give you a hairsyle but a whole new look. They work as a team so it's not just you and your hairdresser in isolation with the usual boring stilted conversation 'where are you going for your hols etc)everyone is involved as a unit with the bonus of really interesting conversations.
I can highly recommend Jamm it's the best Hairdresser I have been to and can't praise it enough and will be telling all my friends and family about it.

I had a voucher which I purchased on KGB deals. £40 for a cut and colour.
I spent 4 hours in the salon.
I was 15 minutes early for my appointment.
The first hour was simply spent waiting.
The next half an hour was spent being told they would be with my soon.
The first application of colour burnt my scalp so much that it had to me removed immediately. I scratched my scalp so much that my fingers are all stained with dye.
The next hour was spent with a gloss colour on my hair which turned out to be less then a perfect match.
The trim and blow dry was good, it would have been hard to get that too wrong.
When I got home I had a line of dye around my face.
I have scored the salon 2 out of 10 because the girls seemed very pleasant.

Jamm Hair is a professional salon where you are treated like an individual and not another number.

I have my hair attended to by the salon director, Mauresce, starts off with consulting, what you want, what to do next, and what Mauresce recommends for your hair to maintain maximum life and health, you may think so? Every other salon does this but they don’t have the experience and professionalism or expertise that Mauresce has, after all she is not an award winner for no reason at all !! During the whole process you are looked after, pampered and feel like you are welcome and not rushed out the door. The salon has the lastest products, technology and an amazing team. Since I have been going to Jamm hair I am constantly told my hair looks amazing, where have I gone? So if you want an award winning director to work some magic and transform you leaving you fabulous and gorgeous, Jamm Hair is the place to go. PS: Enjoy the Vibrating Chair while getting a head massage!.. Lush!

You know how important it is to have someone who you can trust and deliver a fabulous haircut time after time!!! Well look no further than this salon. Marece has a fantastic business model of making everyone feel as if they are part of the salon and always offering extras free of charge. Jamm is a fabulous little salon. I was recommended by a friend a few years back and have not looked back! Maresce always delivers a beautiful cut and colour and she is always enthusiastic (which was what was lacking at my old salon!). You are always made to feel welcome at Jamm and everything from start to finish feels like a treat. I would highly recommend! Just the right mix of funky and classy!

I love my visits to Jamm, not only do you get the best cut and colour in London (I have tried many many salons over the years) but it's friendly and buzzy - you get a relaxing head massage when you are shampooed and a glass of wine if you wish. You can also have your eyebrows threaded and often if they're not too busy you'll get a wonderful hand massage.

I come away feeling I have had a totally enjoyable couple of hours AND a great haircut.

Cannot recommend it enough,

Very happy with Jamm Hair and always very impressed with my hairstyle.

I have curly hair, which is not always easy to style. At other salons I have had some terrible cuts. At Jamm Maresce always listens to my needs, she assesses my hair before the cut and creates a style that looks fab when I leave the salon but more importantly is easy to style and looks great weeks after the cut.

I've also learnt lots of useful tips for styling and maintaining healthy hair. And of course the vibrating chair while you get your hair washed is a relaxing start, the choice of drinks and finally the price and loyalty card - all of the above are why I've been a loyal to this salon for a number of years.

As someone who is not reticent about complaining about poor service, I always think it's nice to be equally as forthright when service is outstanding. I’ve been a customer of Jamm’s for the last few years and during that time, I’ve never had a bad experience. Jamm just manages to get everything right from the moment you are seated in one of those wonderful massage chairs and ‘refreshed’ with a glass of wine or orange. Maresce does a wicked cut and colour; hair extensions if that’s your thing; and even make-up for a special night out! Best of all, it doesn’t break the bank. Having forked out £200 odd for a cut and colour in the past, this is a veritable bargain. And if you’re thinking of going regularly, definitely go for the loyalty card. You’d be amazed how quickly these benefits come along and they really make a difference. I can’t recommend Jamm highly enough!

I've been coming to Jamm for well over 2 years now and despite moving to the other side of London I have continued to go because it is such a gem of a Salon. All the staff are friendly and welcoming (unlike many i've visited over the years) and take really good care of their clients with a personal touch. They are all very skilled and stylish and always do a great cut even with my basic instructions! Aside from the great service and haircuts an incredible head massage and a complimentary head massage are thrown in plus with the reward cards Maresce and the team really know how to look after customers, making it a great experience rather than just a 5 minute hair cut and all at a very competitive price. Highly recommended!!

Since I went to Jamm for the first time in early 2009 I've been a big fan of their laid back approach and the great value-added services. So many stylists these days try to get you in and out of the chair as quickly as possible, whilst Maresce will actually take her time with you to give you the professional look her loyal customers have come to love her for.

Admittedly every now and again there's been a delay or I had to wait a bit longer to get in the 'barber chair', but the gap is always filled with Fiz's brow treatments, a divine head massage or Jo offering a chilled glass of bubbly (or a beer for the guys) whilst you wait.

Since 2009 I've moved half an hour away and I still come back to Jamm every month. Their consistent service standard and great range of products is just worth it!

Hairdressers face a challenge, there's no doubt about it: people want something new, but not to look too different, a change, but nothing too scary, and after getting my hair cut and coloured (and just blow-dried for special occasions) for many years I can certainly recommend the salon whole-heartedly. Marisse and her team really stand out in being very aware of what is going on in the world (of hair!) in general. If you've seen a film or TV show with a particular haircut, chances are, they'll have seen it too, and in the unlikely event they haven't they'll look it up on the net for you. And do a great job with it too. Now what more could you want? Eyelashes applied? Sure thing. Make-up? No problem. Glassa wine? Well just ask!

It's hard to find a great hair salon in London ... And which isn't over priced...
Jamm is great...!!

I've been going to Jamm ever since I moved to the area about 5 years ago - and in that entire time, I have NEVER had a bad haircut or colour with them. They always get it right.

Maresce is possibly the most glamourous hairdresser I have ever come across - but she will go out of her way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and totally spoilt!
She strikes exactly the right balance between encouraging her customers to be a little more adventurous with their cut or colour - without ignoring the clients ideas.

Also, the level of customer care is fantastic. I recently went in to grab some new shampoo and conditioner on my way past, Maresce knew immediately that I was coming into the salon for an appointment in the coming week and suggested I wait in buying the products because my style or my colour might change and the shampoo I bought that day, might be different to the one I needed post-appointment. So she sent me on my way with enough product to last me until my appointment. That extra level of thoughtfulness makes all the difference.

I went in before a party last Christmas - once I told Maresce what I was doing, she insisted on helping me with my make-up and my overall "look". The salon really does go above and beyond traditional customer service.

If you're after a stylish, personalised service that makes the client feel both happy with the result and spoilt during the process, head to Jamm!

I’ve been coming to Jamm for a while & watched them grow, was excited about the the awesome reno this year, and can say without a doubt I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

I’ve been to many salons in London, but they always disappoint in one area, good customer service. When I go to Jamm, it's reminiscent of my trip to Australia where I found the customer service to be absolutely amazing! As a native Australian, Maresce brings that unparalleled commitment to customer service in just the right dose!

When i went to Jamm, the consultation was the most important aspect. Who am I, what I do, whats my regime. All this plays a crucial part in creating the final result which needs to be as mindblowing as is manageable. Maresce and her team effortlessly create this experience for me time and time again. I never walk out of the salon without a new look which Maresce has conjured up for me, all I need to do is sit and relax with my wine.

The salon is not the quietest on Saturdays, as you expect it does get full, but everyone gets involved, all the clients are catching up on the latest gossip. For a quieter experience I recommend going in the week after work, they shut late some nights so sometimes I opt for this when I want a more tranquil environment.

At the end of the day, a review is a review. Everyones experience can differ somewhat. For me, Jamm is one of those little treasures you find through word of mouth, a little nugget of gold that you almost want to keep a secret but cant help bragging about when everyone is giving you constant compliments about how good your hair looks!

Try them yourself, see if you can get a booking with Maresce which is hard these days (in this case ask for Fiz). Their prices are very reasonable for the service received so you can’t loose. For me, where Jamm differs is when I come out of most salons I look better on the outside. With Jamm I look great on the outside but feel confident and amazing inside!

Go Jamm, you

This is a great little salon and the staff are all extremely talented but it is not the place to go if you want a professional service/atmosphere. It is a hectic and noisy place and the manager is loud and is involved with absolutely everything going on, regardless of whether it is involving her own client or not. I have been a couple of times now - they are always very accommodating and listened to what I wanted. I feel in safe hands in that I am confident I will like the end result but it's not the most pleasurable overall experience. I will continue to go back as feel it is really good value for money - it's just a shame they don't read through some of these reviews as it wouldn't take much to improve things.

One of the stylists - Stacey - is brilliant. I do not hesitate to go back to this salon simply because of her alone. Yes, she really is that pleasant and talented. A hairdresser who listens for once - a rare find. Also get a free head massage and conditioning treatment. To be aware - the manager marches about the salon barking orders at everyone while you are getting your hair done. Not a very professional or relaxing environment in which to feel pampered, but like I say, I suffer all that for the end result.

I arrived at my appointment (last sunday) and had to wait hald an hour before i was seen, then i eventually was taken to have my hair washed...... the water was cold - not a good start.
after a fairly pleasant begining to the hair wash some one had to swap, so all in all i had 4 different changes of people in the space of a 10 minute hair wash.

i was then taken up to my chair - where i was made to feel in the way, hair cut was brief and no chat from the stylist, half way through i had to sit there for 20 mins whilst she cut someone elses and this happend twice.
eventually then i had my hair dryed and straightened but my hair wasnt even dried properly.

any way - i couldnt have left quick enough, it came to paying, i had to wait whilst the receptionist mended her till and i look on my bank statement a few days later only to be seen that the incompetant receptionist had managed to charge me TWICE!

NOT HAPPY.

I had little expectation when I went in with my 1/2 price flyer (mondays and tuesdays everything is half price at the moment!) to get my hair cut but i walked out beaming with pride! I really love my new hair cut and was really happy with my stylist Stacey. She took the time to find out exactly what i was after (even though i didn't really know what i wanted) and walked through the options with me. The overall service was excellent, txt reminders, refreshments during my visit and a really nice atmosphere. The (free) head massage when getting a shampoo was fabulous! Am definately returning to this salon!
