Urban Upholstery Ltd is an upholstery and design company founded in 2007 by Andrea Simonutti and Patrizia Sottile. Andrea is a highly experienced upholsterer and Patrizia trained as an architect and artist. They offer various services: from traditional upholstery of classical pieces to modern upholstery of design pieces (Alvaro Aalto, Robin Day), from developing prototypes with designers to design their own pieces.
Their design focuses on restoring found pieces of furniture to their original glory, making use of different materials and remnants of fabrics as well as collaborating with London-based textile designers. Urban Upholstery offers a range of one-off pieces (chairs, armchairs, sofas, chaise longue, stools), which have been created mostly from furniture rescued from the streets of London. Their range of furniture also includes pieces made using discarded wood, like their multifunctional stools and benches. Andrea and Patrizia provide a bespoke service to private and commercial clients offering upholstery and design consultation.

Andrea did an amazing job of reupholstering my vintage Ercol chair and sofa in a velvet fabric. I also got eight scatter cushions made to match and I absolutely love them. I am so happy with the quality of craftsmanship and I would highly recommend Urban Upholstery, as the service I received was excellent.
