Oh and the futterwacking?! Very random. I don't know why that was slipped in there... lol. Sometimes I do think it's just for the Johnny fans when random pieces like that are thrown in, for now logical reason what-so-ever. Ho hum.

I'm also very glad that the story was about Alice and not the Mad Hatter

(Still love ya Johnny  :depp: )

I hate to interupt the discussion about the film but going back to the aiw premiere. Remember i told you all that i put a complaint in about the barriers well I received an email saying my complaint has been forwarded to the relivent department and i should receive a reply in 28 days. They may not be so kind in their reply but at least i tried.

Ok, so visually, Alice in Wonderland was spectacular! The on going interaction between Alice & other real life characters and the CGI/animation was amazing! Very clever and very well done!

The story... nothing to shout about really. Typical "American Dream" scenario where the lead saves the day. Although I'm guessing it was in the Lewis Carrol original in which case, not strictly American. The best films for me are the ones that effect you emotionally. I thought this was going to do that, but it didn't. It was just purely for entertainment, which the characters achieved well and the visual effects.

I thought the casting was spot on! The voices worked really well with the characters. Mia was great, although to me it seemed like she was playing Alice younger than 19... Anne Hathaway really suprised me. I thought she was one of the best. I thought the character might have said more air headed things though, rather than just physicalise it by floating... The Twiddle's were the funniest I thought. You can so see Matt Lucas in them. Great stuff! Johnny was good of course. I think I need to start watching more films with other actors in though. Starting to see the same traits in all his characters and it isn't as entertaining anymore. Don't know why he had to put a scottish accent on when he got angry either... Although he was very good at it!

It's easy to forget with this one that it is a children's film afterall. Which would explain the zainy characters and the weak storyline. It's not easy to forget that it's a Burton film though! Very dark and downright freaky lol.

I rate this film *** :) I'll give it an extra * for the visuals!

I didn't get the scottish accent either, but i agree he did it well.

Seen it twice. :)

Am I the only one that thought Helena completely stole the film? Her portrayal was so fantastic and funny! And I loved the March Hare. :)

Overall I loved the film, but there were some flaws. The first one was that the film came worryingly close to turning into a romance between Alice and the Hatter, which I think detracted slightly from the plot. I thought that there wasn't enough of the White Queen to show her darker side that Hathaway had obviously tried to incorporate. For some reason I found the Dormouse annoying, although I'm not sure why... Also, I did think that the film ended in a far too cliched battle, particularly with the 'six impossible things bit' form Alice. However the battle was saved by the hilarious part with the cards. I also thought that the film didn't reeeeeally contain enough Alice, but I'm not really complaining, as I liked other characters more.

Also, Stephen Fry was fantastic as the Cheshire Cat, and as I said earlier HBC was sooo brilliant. I loved the description that she used in an interview, saying the Red Queen was 'a toddler dictator'. I thought Johnny was great, but I must admit I did prefer other actors in the film to him.

I still loved it, and want to go again! :D

I'm not sure she stole it, but she was very good. Her and the Hathaway were probably the best...

Yeah, I saw that too. Was hoping they weren't suddenly gonna snog or summit. But it was sweet.
Maybe the Dormouse was annoying due to Barbara Windsor's way too high voice? Luckily for me though, she didn't speak long enough in one go for me to want to shove popcorn in me ears...! I thought she was well cast though. She was a mouse after all...
Well the whole ending was cliched I thought. We all know she's going to save the day. It's what she's 'destined to do'. I did LOVE the bit where she... don't know if I should say it as it may ruin the end... but visualy, the bit where she leaps into the air above the Jabberwockie, or whatever it is... that looked amazing! Like a computer game...!
I disagree about Alice not being in it enough. I think I went in thinking it would all be about the Hatter, but found out it wasn't. I thought Alice carried the story. The other characters just filled in the gaps, which is how it should be.

Agree about Johnny. Not the shining star in this one I'm afraid.

I kinda wanna see it again too...!
