We have recently moved flat and are therefore looking to replace some items of furniture which aren't suitable anymore in the new place (wrong size etc). We've been trying to find someone/somewhere that could do with some pieces of good quality furniture as although they aren't suitable for our new flat, are too good to end up on the scrap heap. Does anyone have any ideas as to who would want them(Westminster area)?

Hi there,

There's a number of options for you here.

Firstly try and post it on the marketplace http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/marketplace/ you can list your advert for free.

Or if you're not looking for money for it, try the Westminster council page for recycling furniture http://www.westminster.gov.uk/

There's a number of good causes there that would welcome the furniture.

Hope that helps,

We have an Ikea sideboard and a TV corner table/unit from Argos which are both made of very similar types of wood and therefore match. Both are in good condition and we are happy for anyone to have them for free as long as you can collect.

Furniture re-use network promotes the re-use of unwanted furniture and household effects for the alleviation of need, hardship, distress and poverty.

Here are their London members. http://www.frn.org.uk/code/find/london.asp

Some will take electrical appliances as well as furniture. They repair/recondition stuff like TVs and washing machines then pass them onto low-income families.

If you can't sell your unwanted furniture, please consider donating it and helping those in need.

Hi,
I have 2 large solid dark wood shelving units with glass shelves.

They were gifts from a family member but are too large for my property in NW3.

If anyone is interested let me know [email protected]

You will need a van

Thanks
Carlos
