not sure yet, not even sure what i want to study, my mom wants me to train as a nurse, 'coz being an actress is not realistic'! but i don't think i want to anymore, i have been considering becoming an anatomical pathology technician for which i wouldn't need to go to uni. but really i want to persue acting.
how ever like Aly i also hate the theory, but guess i would have to put up with it if i was gonna study acting in someway.

Do not stop persuing your dream just because your parents say it's an unrealistic career. I know they mean well and are only looking out for your best interests, but if that is what you truely want to succeed in, then why not go for it? It's just the same as any other job really. And you don't necessarily have to act on TV/film, you could perform in the theatre. You could work behind the scenes. PLEASE don't give up! If you audition for a mixture of Uni's/drama schools and you get accepted, you will perform whilst there and they will help you to further your career. Are you with any youth theatres?
Acting courses are very practical, particularly at drama schools. The theory work is more prominant in Universities, but it depends which one you go to... If you auditioned for Bath Spa University, it's about 80/20 (80 being the practical percentage). I think they are getting more theory based as time goes on as it is a new course. But don't let the theory put you off as it is honestly such a small amount compared to the practical work. Not in terms of importance of course... ;)
What's a anatomical pathology technician?
