So, any thoughts on this? Is anyone going to go along to watch or will you try and ignore the whole thing and enjoy the day off? I'm happy for them both, but don't feel the need to follow it all in such detail...reckon I'll just watch the news and be done with it.

I noticed that the cost of putting on the wedding (of which a good chunk is being met directly by the taxpayer) is being estimated at the 10s of millions... wondering if that's the best use of our money at the moment, given how skint we are?

I love most of the royal family but i have no interest at all in watching the wedding.
I'm rather bored of the whole thing already to be honest.
My mum is going to watch it, said she's going to get herself some chocolates & sit in front of the tv and watch it :confused2:
I shall be taking the kids to richmond park for a few hours, have a run around & have a picnic (if it doesn't rain) .... then when we come home maybe watch some films/do some baking etc.
Its an awful lot of money to spend on a wedding but i see why and how the costs go into the millions. Shame they couldn't run off and get married in secret & spare us having to hear about it all
My wedding cost about £300 & thats including the rings

Reckon you should be in the government Daisy... sure you could come up with some better ideas of saving a few quid than they have ;)

My friend, her sister and her mum are also all going to sit in and watch all day... I don't really get it :-?

I don't get it either.

I might get a little excited about a very close relatives wedding but not with someone i don't know.... and the coverage is going to be all day.

I have to admit that we simply got married.... no party, cake, honeymoon etc.
I got married in tracksuit bottoms & a t.shirt & my husband was wearing a t.shirt & shorts..... someone came into the side room & asked where the bride & groom were  :emb:
Only invited 4 people & only told them 2 days before the wedding.... and afterwards we went to sainsburys do our shopping..... very romantic
We're both very shy & the thought of standing infront of lots of people would fill me with dread.
Still married 10 years later though :)

Just saw on the news that a few people have already started to camp out for a good view & they showed all the camera people there..... theres days to go why are they there so early.

I've just watched the news on it too... Green Park is going to be ruined under all those press wagons!!

Just spotted this comp on AIL http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/competition.php?compid=1052 You can win 2 nights accomodation for the wedding and £200 spending money... thought it may be up your street Daisy being a pro-comper... something good could come out of the wedding after all :)

p.s. now you've gone into the detail, I'm wondering how you managed to spend so much on your wedding!! If you didn't have any of the frills and only 4 guests where did the £300 go :-? Congratulations on being married 10 years. It's nice to hear about marriages that last these days! Hope Wills and Kate follow in your footsteps :soapbox:

I think we had to pay around £80 to get married, something like that..... my memory is bad :emb: Then the rings & getting them engraved.

My mother in law still hasn't forgiven us for getting married whilst she was on holiday & has never sent us a card or said happy anniversary to us :bangin:

My brother in law got married 2 years ago & spent something like 15k on the wedding.... thats not including the honeymoon :speechless: :speechless: :speechless:

All my kids have been learning about william & kate & will be today & tomorrow too. Oldest is bored of it, daughter wants to see the dress  and the youngest 2 want to go :speechless: ..... no way

Thanks for the comp..... the comping fairy has abandoned me all year. Hardly won anything at all despite entering loads of comps.... thousands of comps.

I'm not really that fussed about the wedding. Getting kind of fed up with the non-stop coverage. But at least we should be grateful for another bank holiday!

I'd sooner saw through my thigh with a spoon than sit and watch this.

Not really my kinda thing but I think I'll watch this. Was flicking the channels the other night and saw them being interviewed - I thought Wills came off really well - seems like a really nice funny kinda chap.
... and let's face it, Kate's pretty easy on the eye - gotta be worth a watch.

He's punching above his weight for sure, although I'd imagine being the King in a few years time carries some bonus points which makes up the difference.
