Visa and the Olympics

Is it just me, or is this thing whereby you could only get tickets if you had a Visa card completely unfair/anti-competitive/discriminatory? One massive company completely monopolises that part of the games because they can throw enough money at it. Many people will have been forced into taking out such a card because they wanted to apply for tickets, others will not have been able to because of adverse credit history/low income/etc.. and were therefore unable to even have a chance of attending the event. The whole business of these huge corporate sponsors just stinks if you ask me and goes again the whole idea that the games should be a celebration of human achievement to be admired and enjoyed by all. :soapbox: :banghead:

The Olympics has nothing to do with human achievement, it's all about making money for people who really don't need more of it. All the guff about the 'legacy' for London makes me laugh. If there was demand for a wooden track for people to cycle around London would already have one, same goes for all of the other veunes, most of it will go to ruin or to private companies to profit from further after the games.

As for Visa, I agree and was surprised nothing was mentioned about it in the press, perhaps there's an uber super mega injunction surrounding anything to do with the games and it's sponsors.

It really wouldn't surprise me to be honest - I'm sure that the public/media can't really think that the monopolisation of the ticket system by Visa is fair.
