The BlackBerry Bold 9900 has the better screen, no doubt. While the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro’s might be slightly bigger, it’s only by 0.2 of an inch, while the BlackBerry’s screen is significantly sharper.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 takes this round too, but only just. The two devices are very similarly specced, but the BlackBerry’s Qualcomm processor is clocked 200MHz faster. Both devices use the Adreno 205 GPU, which ensures solid video and 3D gaming performance.

Another round to the BlackBerry Bold 9900 – and this time it’s convincing. The RIM device has loads more storage than the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro (which, in truth, is pretty under-equipped in this department), and it also has more RAM.

This is the big area in which the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro win its points back. Android is simply a much, much better operating system than BlackBerry OS. Fine, if all you want to do is email and IM people, the BlackBerry is fine. But the Xperia Mini Pro can do all that and much, much more.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 – 115 x 66 x 10.5 mm, 130 grams
Both of these handsets are pretty compact, but the Sony Ericsson is much shorter and narrower. However, the BlackBerry Bol 9900 is significantly thinner and a little bit lighter. It’s impossible to call, given the completely different form factor of the two devices.
