Bloody rats!

Does anyone else reading this live in a basement/garden flat in London?

I do and for the past couple of months I've been hearing rats running around under the floorboards, it's not nice!

I phoned the pest control people and they said it's quite normal in basement flats to hear them and it's only really a problem if they're getting into the property, which in my case they aren't.

If anyone's "dealt" with rats in a basement flat before any advice would be appreciated.

If they are under your floorboards, they are in your property. This should not be normal. Where I live environmental health will deal with rats free of charge. I suggest that you speak to environmental health again. If they take no action, speak or write to your local councillor.

Thanks for your reply.

I called the pest control people in and it's all sorted now. They weren't getting into the living areas, they were just below the floorboards, was only a matter of time though I suppose.
