What's this all about? A bunch of unemployed and retired people getting the train in from Surrey and protesting to protect the pigeons????

Pigeons are filthy creatures, they make Trafalgar Square an unpleasant place to be. It's easy to feel sorry for them when you live in a nice clean area and aren't bothered by them, but try working in that part of London and having to put up with the scavengers and the mess they make every day.

I agree i hate pigeons.

I was listening to the vanessa feltz on the radio this morning & she was talking about this.

On behalf of PETA, Tony Award-winning composers Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison of The Drowsy Chaperone and Georgia Engel, who plays Mrs. Tottendale in the Broadway hit, have sent a singing telegram to Ken Livingstone, London's mayor.

Some of the lyrics are:

DID YA' KNOW - A PIGEON LIKES TO FLY FAST HE GOES FIFTY MILES PER DID YA' KNOW - A PIGEON SEES IN COLOR ULTRA-VIOLET HE'LL PREFER DID YA' KNOW A PIGEON BABY IS A "SQUEAKER"

DID YA' KNOW A PIGEON LADY IS A "HEN"

DID YA' KNOW A PIGEON'S THIRTY-SEVEN TASTE BUDS ENJOY A BREAD CRUMB NOW AND THEN.... it goes on a bit more lol.

I found that on a site & at the end of all that it says - PETA's Europe's director, Poorva Joshipura, said 'We are hoping that the mayor will be moved by this soft appeal for a gentle bird who thrills more people than are intolerant of her'.

I don't think so some how!
