"On 4th July Gareth Crossman, Policy Director of Liberty spoke at a cross-party meeting held in the House of Commons aimed at highlighting concerns over the 2003 UK-US Extradition Treaty. Of particular concern is the proposed extradition of Babar Ahmad to the US. Since the signing of the treaty, the US has demanded the extradition of more than 40 British citizens, without having to provide any evidence to validate the allegations against them. In contrast, if the UK wishes to extradite a US citizen, they must first demonstrate a case in the US court."
