Hello there,

My company is offering me a new job in london. We would have to relocate near Uxbridge (North West London I believe). I have no idea about the cost of living or housing expenses, taxes, food, etc...

We are a family of three (2 adults and 1 5yr kid). I am the only one that is going to be working. At least while my wife gets a job.

My job offer has not arrived yet but it should be arround 60K a year. Is that enough to live upon? I don't know what my net would be (after taxes and city counsil tax) so I appreciate your help.

Hi Tony,

Weldone on the job, that's a great wage! ... and yes that should be find to live on in Uxbridge.
As Uxbridge is quite far out from central London (technically Hillingdon, isn't it?) it's much cheaper to live there.
I'm no financial expert but I would image that a 2 or 3 bedroomed house in that area would be easily affordabe on £60k gross income.

Uxbridge is quite a good area. There are plenty of green parks around, transport is good (link to tube and A/M40 and M25... and Heathrow is just down the road if you are jetting off anywhere!

I'd suggest getting in touch witha few local housing agents to see what's available and how expensive they are.

Have a great move and I wish you the best of luck! :)
