Nice place to live (Greenford/ Ruislip)

Am looking to move within the next year to Greenford area. Been looking at Ruslip too but have no idea how safe these areas are. Would like somewhere West Of Ealing and nothing like Southall, Hayes or Slough. Also nothing expensive - where can your recommend?

I used to live in these areas. They're all absolutely fine and perfectly safe, I never felt threatened once.
They're not expensive areas to live in either and are all pretty well connected by tube and rail. There are also plenty of pubs and restaurants in these areas, they're not all particularly mega-trendy - so may not be first choice for a Saturday night out, but it's easy to get into central London or nip up to Watford for a bigger night out.
Even though they are well connected areas they are still quite far out and so you could be looking at 45 mins to get into central London by tube. But there is an overland from West Ruislip (I think) which is much quicker, so the Ruislip and Eastcote areas would be good to look at if you are interested in this connection.
Also all these areas are right on the A40 which makes a getaway from London (if you are heading west or to the M25) really easy although the Polish War Memorial roundabout is a complete pain at rush hour.
My opinion is that Ruislip is the nicest of the districts in that area but it's also probably the most expensive.

I live in Northolt, just between your two choices. South Greenford is OK, cheaper than Ruislip, althoug Ruislip generally is nicer. Ruislip Gardens gives you inexpensive Ruislip, and is probably worth a closer look.
