So my 21st is in August which yep I know is a while awa but I like to be prepared. I don't usually do anything sepcial for birthdays but obviously this is a biggie for me and also a chance to see a lot of friends I haven't seen in a while as it's difficult when everyone's got their own thing going on. I'm not really sure what I want to do. I've had a few ideas such as fancy dress at Reflex Bar and am also possibly interested in Tiger Tiger as it combines the whole bar/club/restaurant thing which I'm looking for. Has anyone been to any of these before or have any alternative suggestions! Thanks

Hi Bella,

Fancy dress is a great idea!

I think it depends where you want to go and what sort of thing you want to do.

If you want to do a pub crawl in fancy dress you'll have to choose your venues carefully as I think some places can get a bit snobby about letting in really big groups of people - especially in fancy dress - some venues are way too cool to allow anyone to have any fun! :veryangry:

That said, groups of girls find it much easier to get into places than big groups of guys.

I'd say stick to places liek Zoo Bar, Oxygen, Tiger Tiger, On Anon, The Warwick - they're all in the same part of town and they're not too pretentious so you'll be OK getting in.

If you want to go to a club later I'd suggest getting everyone on a guestlist. (This site does loads of guestlists).

Alternatively, what about hire a room out in a venue? I went to a fancy dress a couple of weeks ago at the North London Tavern in Kilburn and we hired out the upstairs and had a really good night.

I think loads of venues will hire out back rooms if they know you'll be drinking all night.

Anyway, hope this helps and have a great 21st!

I host parties @ Babalou and think thats always a nice place for Birthdays. We can usually reserve and area for you and your friends and offer a free bottle of bubbly for large birthday groups.

They also serve cocktails and excellent Thai food.

http://www.babalou.net - The website isn't great but there are some good pics on there of the venue.

Just email [email protected] if you need anymore info.

as much as i hate chains under normal circumstances, have to admit that the Late Night London pubs (Trudie mentioned) are all pretty good and have the right tone for a b-day i.e. snotty enough not to let in riff-raff, but not too up themselves so that you can let your hair down and have a good time too. I don't know Babalou but have heard good things about it, equally i always liked The Loop just nr Bond Street as it does the same bar/restaurant/dance-floor combo.

Hope you have a fab time

Have a look at this company - www.sincura.com - they can get you in to every venue in london, can get tickets for ny attraction, and get you free services and VIP treatment anywhere you go. They also have top end things - like access to Richard Branson's island, and Donna Karen's and Bruce Willis' private retreat. They can deliver alcohol to your door 24 hours a day, are the cheapest suppliers of tickets in the UK and host parties every 4 weeks which are free, include a free bar and gift bags and are attended by leading celebs, model, the media etc. It's an awesome company - you get discounts in over 250 shops when you join up which saves you a small fortune. The list of services is endless - have a look at their website.
