Hi!

Help!

I have an interview at the US embassy in london on Tuesday. We (husband and 2 kids) will be driving to London from Manchester and staying over night on Mon. What i wanted to ask is, is it better to stay at a hotel 'out' of London and drive in on the day, if so what is parking like? and is Satnav reliable in London? or should we stay close to the embassy? I know the more central we are the more expensive the hotels are and that is of course an issue for me. As we are travelling with two children we don't want to be changing at tube stations either as 1 of this will be in a stroller.

Your advice and help would me much appreciated.

Well the embassy is in a VERY expensive area for hotels, there are some cheper options nearby (try Marble Arch).

You wont want to drive in, SatNav may be reliable but parking is limited and expensive also in the West End.

You could stay anywhere on the Central or Jubilee Tube lines, as both Marble Arch and Bond St stations are within 10 mins walk.

Going on the tube from Heathrow sounds like a mission to me, but then I haven't done the journey myself.
