The only cure i know of is that try to remember the VERY FIRST TIME you give yourself a little scratch at the side of your mouth then go out and by some over the counter cream and get it before it starts.

As a long suffer of the dreaded cold sore virus, I can tell you that the virus lives in the top of your neck and when you become rundown or stressed, the virus runs along the nerve endings to your lips.

Vitamin b6 is good as a long term treatment, also echinacia but this you have to take for a few months each year.Carmex cream helps with the pain but only if you catch it as soon as it starts to tingle.Use strong alcohol on a cotton bud to help dry in the early days.

As a l;ast resort go see you gp and ask for aciclovir tablets you take five a day for 5 days and they DO work. I keep a pack handy to start as soon as i feel it starting.

Hope that helps
