Hi all,
My first post, so be gentle with me.
Going to watch Paul Weller at The Brixton Acadamy on Wednesday 26th.
I'm going with the wife and the plan is to get there early and enjoy a few beers in the afternoon before going to the concert.
My question is where to stay overnight.
We are looking for a fairly nice hotel in a safe area within relatively close distance either time wise or distance to the venue.
We will be travelling into London by train from the South.
Thanks.

I know this is not 100% helpful, but there are too many hotels to know them all by heart!

But Ill say this, the Victoria line, which serves Brixton stops its engineering works before the gig. Currently its been closing early but you wont have this problem. Bearing this in mind anywhere on the Victoria line, except for deep North London (as the travel will be far) should be more than suitable.

But there is a Holiday Inn express around Vauxhall, only a couple of stops on the tube if youre thinking around those sort of ideas. Not too far from Victoria either which is where I presume you might be coming into on the train from the south.

Hope thats a helpful start!

Okay, Charing Cross is where I go into myself! Like I say hotels are much of a muchness in London, albeit expensive. If you head out a bit more you obviously can find cheaper ones, most places near the tube or an overground station are reachable, use www.tfl.gov.uk journey planner to get a rough idea of travel times, might be worth customising any journey on there to remove buses as you might not wanna use them!
