I have spent 4.5 hours on a call to a bank. On a matter relating to a joint account.

The staff in the UK can see on their screens that I have authority to deal with the account. The staff overseas can see the same data but will not talk to me..
The staff in the UK are not able to help me, and have even tried to talk with the overseas call center, still even then they are unable to get them to agree to talk to me. Speehless

So I have sent a letter, but that comes back too Angry
If all fails I guess I change banks!!

I was with HSBC but closed by accounts.
I had to call up as i got a letter saying that they couldn't close one of my accounts.
Their call centre isn't in the uk, i think its in India or somewhere like that.

Whilst they were very polite they were utterly useless. Called got through to one person who said that their computer had just failed & that i'd have to call back. I asked if they could just pass me on to someone else has it took long enough to get through all the 'button pressing' to get to speak to a human being.... she said no.
Hung up & called back... this woman didn't have a clue & in the end she cut me off :veryangry: :bangin:
I gave up on that one & will go along to the bank when i have a spare hour to wait.... they kept me in the bank for nearly 2 hours last time... waiting time & then whilst the bank man was closing my accounts.

Halifax are so much easier to deal with

It is really bad they are moving all call centres etc abroad. My mum works for shell (not call centre but offices) and she had to go to Manila (sp)?? to train the people that were going to replace her :speechless: :speechless:

If you have problems with BT again, let me know. I have the e-mail address of someone high up and things ger solved damn quickly when you e-mail him. Especially if you mention considering cancelling their service.
