I found this via the TFL website - looks really useful.

http://trafficalerts.tfl.gov.uk

I drive a lot in central London. Anyone else found useful sites like this?

This is a great service which we at "The Knowledge" (that's the taxi driver navigation service, not the allinlondon 'Knowledge') use.

The full URL which we were given by TfL is http://trafficalerts.tfl.gov.uk/pinpointlite/main.php

It can also show you maps of where the usual traffic congestion is so you can avoid it. It will also give you advance notice of road closures.

If you do get stuck in traffic in the capital and want to know if there's a shortcut (or you just want to know where somewhere is), just dial the number on the banner ad at the top right hand corner of this page.

This site is great, much better than the RAC one.

BTW Gerrard, you don't need to type the long URL, just type trafficalerts.tfl.gov.uk into your browser. I've tried it on my Xda and it works Happy
