Hey everyone, I plan on Visiting London in March for a few weeks-- Will be my first time anywhere in the U.K., and I have a few questions that I hope you can help me with.. First off I will give some info- Im mid 20's so the "tourist" sites somewhat appeal to me, but im more interested in getting involved with the culture, club scene, meeting people, and just having fun. I will be going with 2 other people who share my interest, and are just good people. Sooo, with all that said-

Question 1. Besides the occaisional shopping, and site seeing... How much money should i bring for clubs, food, taxi service, etc???

Question 2. I really enjoy dancing, What are some of the clubs in London?

Question 3. Im looking into the Heathrow Sheraton Hotel- Is that a good choice? Should I spend extra? get closer to London?

Question 4. I live in Vegas and have encountered many Britanians in clubs or on the strip, and I usually let them hang and hit the clubs with me and my friends, Maybe toss the occaisional girl at them.. Can I expect the same generosity and courtesy in London?

Thank you ahead of time to all who replied- Im sure it will be a great time and I cant wait to go!!!

P.S. I Love your new programming show Skins, and have been a fan of Hustle... Most Americans dont watch British Programming, but I think its a must, and has only made me want to visit your country all the more.

To be honest, I don't really like your attitude. I think British men are more respectful and realise that women aren't objects to be tossed around. I hope it was just a slip of the tongue/hand and not meant as badly as it came across!

1. How long is a piece of string? Obviously if you go to the up-market clubs, want to drink quite a bit and then get a taxi back to Heathrow that is going to cost a fortune, but you can limit your expenses by not drinking loads (a typical drink in a club can easily by £5). Cost of food is also obviously dependent on where you go and whether you get take-out sandwhiches or go a la carte. You can get take-out for £3 or post meal for £50+

2. There's a whole list of clubs on this site - try looking at some of the reviews on them to get a better idea.

3. If you're planning on going clubbing until the early hours, I think the extra money on getting a hotel/B&B a bit further into town will be less than the cost of taxis back to your hotel. Heathrow is quite a distance and with licences cabs won't be cheap to get back to.

4. If you're friendly and respectful, I'm sure you'll find equally friendly people in the UK.

Hope that helps

In the West End of London you will need a lot of $$$ for clubs and drinks and taxis for sure!

I cant list the clubs for you, there are a lot, this site lists lots of them so you can search for the sort of music you like etc.

Heathrow is out of London to the West, its a 45-60 min underground train ride from the West End, and I should think a good £30 or so taxi fare. So VERY expensive so I would suggest staying closer in to London to save money (it will be cheaper to use the tube to get to and from Heathrow than to taxi it after clubbing).

Finally you will find it is very different to what you know out in Vegas. The UK is far more reserved and you will find it much harder to talk to strangers, socialise with them etc than in the USA. You might well find a group of guys who you can hang with and the like but its not really that sort of culture here to be honest.
