I got the number 46 yesterday to Hampstead and as usual gave the driver £1.20, I couldn't believe it when he said "it's £1.50 now".

That's a 30p increase just because I don't have an Oyster card, what a bloody joke!

Oyster cards allow you to pre-pay for your travel. You add funds to your card at stations (or newsagents) and then each time you use the tube or a bus you swipe the card and the payment is deducted - it costs a lot less than paying cash.

I'm not a big fan of them for privacy reasons, I also don't agree that people using cash should be penalised.

Yep, Oyster cards are great. :) Why don't you get one and just use it as pay-as-you-go? That's what I do and it works great.

If you have a PAYG or Weekly Travelcard on Oyster you dont need to register them, so your privacy has not been invaded. Bus Fares are coming down to 90p per journey on PAYG

It's ridiculous - i know everyone is always saying it and its nothing new, but how on earth do we expect to solve the climate change and congestion issues if we're effectively priced off public transport? It's not even just buses, it feels like its all public transport....what are the politicians doing?? I reckon we should have subsidised public transport.
