Oxford House marks the arrival of spring with an exhibition that reveals the passing of time in Bethnal Green, Things I Like in Bethnal Green: Part 1 (Dance With Me) by conceptual artist Lucinda May.
The exhibition consists of eight 1-minute films playing on a loop on the large screen at the end of the lower Gallery in Oxford House. Part of a series of projects celebrating aspects of Bethnal Green’s rich history, May was filmed over one week dancing in the locations of 40 past and present churches as a gesture of hope and possibility in the area where she lives.
The exhibition at Oxford House is part of a multi-location exhibition in four different places. There will be a publication in each of the four venues across Bethnal Green with information about the show: an essay and different photographs as well as old and new maps.
Private View: 9 March, 6-9pm.
