Home to the largest lights installation in the capital, Regent Street is best known for its awe-inspiring ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ lights. These stunning suspended spirits were inspired by Regent Street’s very first Christmas lights, which were the first ever central London Christmas lights in 1954.

From 5pm – 9pm on Thursday 15th November, we’re inviting Londoners and visitors alike to join us on a traffic-free Regent Street to celebrate the switch-on moment. Soak up the celebratory atmosphere and enjoy the entertaining switch-on show, taking place from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.

A star-studded switch-on show is ready to go live on the 15th November, with acts now announced. To keep you feeling warm and fuzzy, West-End musical showstopper Dreamgirls will perform some of the show’s feel good hits, followed by British superstar Calum Scott who will be getting the party started before Jodie Whittaker, British actor and the first female to play The Doctor in Doctor Who, will press the switch on button alongside Heart Radio’s Breakfast presenters Jamie Theakston and Sian Welb. Heralding the start of the festive season, it’s a must-see as the stunning spirits light up once again on London’s most iconic shopping street.

Promising a fun occasion for friends and family, there will also be a traffic-free late night shopping evening to follow the switch-on, with an array of in-store and on-street surprises – from special shopping events to musical acts, and extra special gifts – marking the start of the festive season.
