Christmas festivities at Launceston Place

Christmas Market Menu

As the dark, wintry nights begin to close in upon us and the holiday season draws nigh, what better way is there to celebrate the fast-approaching Christmas than with a meal at the Michelin-starred restaurant Launceston Place, feasting upon the delicious creations of head chef Tim Allen? Tim has created a special Christmas Market Menu, priced at £39 for two courses and £46 for three, that features some of his favourite dishes in a distinctly festive guise. For starters, guests can choose from dishes such as Lightly pressed organic Rhug turkey layered with caramelised onions, watercress, figs and cranberries, or Duck egg with a fricassee of cepes, white beans and leeks, accompanied by Cured foie gras, sherry vinegar and duck rillette en croute. For the main course, diners can opt for dishes such as Loin of venison with haunch suet pudding, brussels sprouts and chestnuts with caramelised swede, or Ibérico pork loin cooked in a barbeque with salt-baked apples, cabbage puree and Champagne sauce. Tempting desserts include ‘The’ Christmas Pudding (complete with flaming apple ice cream), a Bitter chocolate mousse, Roasted black figs with warm pistachio pain de gene or Fresh citrus bergamot soufflé; who wouldn’t want to end a meal on such a sweet note?
