The Ritz Restaurant presents Les Arts de la Table

The art of tableside service...

Since opening in 1906, The Ritz Restaurant has left an indelible impression on all who have dined there. In what is often described as the most beautiful restaurant in Europe, vast floor to ceiling windows, rich Louis XVI-inspired décor and dazzling garlands of chandeliers reflected in grand mirrored walls set the scene for elegant extravagance. This month will see The Ritz Restaurant launch its ‘Les Arts de la Table’ menu (priced at £75 per person for three courses including a glass of Ritz Cuvée Champagne). Les Arts de la Table is the forgotten art of table service and the Ritz Restaurant remains one of the few restaurants in London that are keeping this timeless tradition alive. It involves classic dishes prepared with the finest ingredients. These dishes are then presented, whole, to the guest before being expertly carved or filleted and beautifully plated at the tableside.

Executive Chef John Williams MBE has been at the helm of the hotel’s dining service for the past nine years and he has made it his mission to ensure The Ritz hallmark of excellence is delivered with every meal. This philosophy has never been more apparent than in The Ritz Restaurant with its rich culture of ‘palace–style’ food and service, its selection of menus featuring great classical dishes alongside British specialities and its strong focus on seasonality. John’s ‘Les Arts de la Table’ menu will include iconic dishes such as: Bresse chicken demi-deuil; sea bass en croute and leg of baby lamb.

“To dine from ‘Les Arts de la Table’ menu is to enjoy an unique restaurant experience. This menu displays a perfect harmony between the kitchen and service, delivering Escoffier inspired extraordinary cooking to our guests with warm, friendly service with an element of theatre”.

The Ritz Restaurant offers impeccable service, that is overseen by Simon Girling (Executive Food and Beverage Operations Manager), perfectly executed by waiters - in their signature tail coats, like a beautifully choreographed ballet. The legendary wine list is overseen by Head Sommelier, Tobias Brauweiler, who came in the top six of the UK Sommelier of the Year Competition 2012. Les Arts de la Table plays an integral part of the experience at The Ritz Restaurant that reminds us of the rich heritage of traditional fine dining.
