Colliers Wood is in the southern part of London and is located on the Northern Line between the popular stations of South Wimbledon and Tooting Broadway. Ironically, there are actually no woods in Colliers Wood anymore, although there are indications that a wood existed until around 1870 when Warren and Marlborough Roads were developed.
Today, Colliers Wood is famous for several reasons, one being that it is home to the largest supermarket in Europe, the Savacentre. In addition, there is the nearby heritage centre at the Merton Abbey Mills which is popular with tourists and visitors alike.
Of less notable acclaim is the Colliers Wood Tower which was recently voted the ugliest building in London and amongst the ugliest buildings in the UK.
