Whetstone is millionaire-dwelling Totteridge’s more humble sibling, as the two are often lumped together thanks to the Totteridge and Whetstone tube station on the Northern Line. It’s a middle class, residential, sleepy sort of place, with very few shops – although there is a large Waitrose - and the odd pub on the High Road, which forms part of the Great North Road that leads to Edinburgh. You’ll see very few young faces as there is little for them to do; the nearest shopping centres are in Finchley and Barnet and there is zero nightlife. What you do get however, are plenty of green open spaces, large semi-detached houses and fairly good transport links.
