This is a new concept in good quality, nutritious and delicious Indian food. It has an all day buffet for only £5.99 for over 30 items plus a free glass of soft drink and desert! Great a la carte menu too.

No alcohol served but you can bring your own.

Its a pity that this restaurant is hidden behind market stalls because it is pretty easy to miss. I found the food to be very tasty. I sampled most that was on display. The only thing I didn't like were the chicken wings which I think were undercooked.

The salad bar was also an added bonus.

I will definately be going again.

I honestly do not understand why the review below says what it says, I had a really delightful time at Spice Express. I travel the world frequently as a diplomat (and go to very nice restaraunts for every cuisine). Spice Express really does provide great authentic Indian food (as well as Chinese and Western dishes) both in the buffet and the a la carte. In addition, the staff and management are friendly and prices are very modest in comparison for what you receive both in terms of amount and flavour, especially considering the other restaraunts I have dined at. To top it all of, it is at the heart of Croydon's shopping area. A Perfect restaraunt really whether for a light lunch on your own or a 3 course meal with friends and family (especially with all those heavy bags!).

I can't believe the all ready rated comment about this restaurant!

I visited first time with work colleagues and the staff (manager) was very abrupt and rude as he told my colleague that we had to use the same plates each time we went up or food. No concept of communicating with new customers with diplomacy.

Food is below average in my books as there was not much taste to the curries and the Pilau rice was just rice with some food colouring. I had the chicken wings and it was under cooked , so i left this on my plate. The only thing that tasted as it should was the Coke Zero...

To top it off the managers add to insult when they tell customers that they do not need 'their custom' i.e. the new customers. Great way to build relationship we potential regulars. Its no no no all the way for me ....Disappointing!

This is a great restaurant with a good variety in the buffet and the a la carte menu from various cuisines. Everything is cooked perfectly first time, every time. In the heart of Croydon shopping area which is convenient with all those shopping bags! Good friendly service and great value for money. What more could you want?

Excellent choice of really tasty food . Their buffet was great value for money. Service was great and the place was so clean............even the loos were sparkling! Will definitely go again. They do not have a bar though, but you can take your own alcohol .....which is cheaper for us anyway. On the whole its a wonderful restaurant.

Great food & great folks. They seem to love what they do. I tried the rohu fry and hilsa masala and they were good. Curries are not bad either.

Have your say
