Blessed West Indian serve a variety of West Indian dishes including fried dumplings, ackee and salt fish, plantain, fried chicken and rice. Catering for vegetarians is also provided and a takeaway menu is also available.
i was intrigued when i saw this new carribbean takeaway as it used to be called Judy's Divine. It seems to have new owners now and had a refitr-looks very bright and homely inside. Anyway, seeing this i thought id get some food, i ordered two large oxtail with rice and peas. When i got home, and opened the box, i was dismayed to discover that a 'large' portion of oxtail consisted of a tablespoons worth of meat-in fact this wasnt even a small portion of meat-it was a childs portion, there must have been 4 very small pieces of oxtail, some bone and the rest was just rice. I was so incensed i rang the takeaway and told them that for £7 a portion, i didnt expect 1 tabelspoon worth of meat, and they apologised. If i hadnt have gone home 2 miles away i would have brought all the 'food' back. If they carry on like that i will be very surprised if they are still in business by the summer, if you do buy food from these guys-make sure you check the portion before paying.
